2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the Raleigh Uke Jam. It’s been a wild ride with so many great times, new friends, new songs, outside performances, and everything else we’ve done together. We’ve attached a collection of photos here from the anniversary party.
I still remember the feeling the first night in 2013 when my daughter and I opened up the classroom and set everything up for the first Jam. We were hoping that maybe five or six folks would show up. Boy, were we surprised at the turnout that night and how this has turned out over the years.
Special thanks to the Party Committee Members — Bonnie, Nell, Bob, George, and Rick Henderson — for coming up with great ideas for the party and making it happen. Also special thanks to Rick who curates the Facebook page and this website, handles most of the email correspondence, and helps find us outside places to play. I don’t know where we would be without his energy, creative ideas, and hard work.
Be sure to check out the slideshow which is posted on another page of the website. It provides a great historical perspective of the RUJ through the years. It will stir up lots of memories about people and places and great songs and performances.
